Since I’m given a few days off, I decided to do some exploring on my own.

1st stop. St. Ignatius Cathedral of Shanghai (聖依納爵主教座堂).

Xujiahui District, Puxi Road.

(Pardon the stupid date on the photo. I didn’t realize that my dad’s camera had the date all wrong. And I can’t remove it. URGH.)

This cathedral is within walking distance from where I stay. A beautiful cathedral I must say. At times you can see couples taking wedding pictures there. It looks small on the outside but the cathedral is actually pretty big. It can accommodate about 2500 people. There’s even a dorm area included in the church area. It’s not just a tourist attraction. There’s actually masses every week. Oh, and it was also featured in the opening scenes of Steven Spielberg’s 1987 film Empire of the SunClick on the link above (the name) to find out more about the cathedral.

The little garden in the church.

2nd stop. Shanghai Lomography Gallery Store

Lu Wan District, No. 126 Jin Xian Road

This small shophouse has 6 storeys of Lomo goodness. 6 storeys.

The 1st storey is where the different lomo cams, books, and accessories are for sale.

Was so so tempted to buy so many stuff there! In the end I only bought a small little Diana F+ chain to hang on my hp. Small consolation for myself since I don’t have the money to buy the cameras there at the moment. I haven’t gotten my dad’s approval. My money comes from him now so I have to get his approval before I can buy anything. I told him what I want to buy already. He hasn’t given me a reply. =(

The 2nd storey is where classes and activities are conducted.

(Note that the walls, floors, and “benches” are all covered with photos!)

The 3rd storey is where stuff like lomo shirts and bags are for sale.

I like the layout of this area… the boxes stacked on top of one another and what not… heh.

Me being narcissistic. =P

My missing middle section!

The 4th storey is the gallery area.

Lomo couple + Diana F+ doggie.

Diana World Tour!

The walls + ceiling were covered with pictures taken using the Diana.

My best friend for the day.

The 5th storey is where the cafe is located.

The 6th storey is an extension of the cafe area.

I love how the shop is decorated using pictures taken using lomo cams. The walls, ceilings, stairs… it gives a very very nice feel.

Will go back there once I get the OK to buy the camera. Heh… Daddy! Please!

Anyway… the lane where this store is located on, which is Jin Xian Road, has many small boutique shops. It has a very Haji Lane feel. Heh… I like.

The area also has lotsa shopping places… but mostly branded stuff. Nice to walk around and window shop. =)

Tomorrow… I’m gonna go visit some DIY craft stores and maybe a cafe that my dad recommended. Gotta go sleep now. Tired!

More tomorrow!

Love,

Silly old me. =P
